For the first time a completely practical guide is presented on how to unify the broken processes of a hospital step by step, and improve its performance, through the Lean approach. The Guide is a theoretical case based on real experience in several hospitals for 3 years. A framework is presented divided into different stages, ordered, which help to focus improvement activities in those areas where they are really needed and with which high impact results will be achieved. Firstly, the starting situation is known and analyzed, then different countermeasures to be applied are proposed and, finally, the action plan is developed to achieve the desired situation in the hospital.
